Organic Maca Powder (Lepidium meyenii) is made of the maca a root. The Maca root belongs to the radish family and is mostly grown in the mountains of Peru. The nickname of maca is “Peruvian ginseng”.
What is Maca?
Maca has a earthy, nutty taste and its smell is almost similar as butterscotch. Maca roots can grow in different colors: yellow, red, blue, green, gray and black. The red, black and yellow colors are the most used colors available today. The yellow colored maca is the favorite of many people, because the sweet taste.

There is no need to use any pesticides, herbicides, fungicides and other harmful chemicals since they are grown in naturally fertile soils, we do not need to use any artificial fertilizers on it. How is your maca made?
Maca can be found in several forms: Pills, extracts, gelatinized and powdered form. All of these forms can be found and are sold at many health foods shops. But how is it made?
Nutriboost offers premium maca powder that is grown in Peru, where the plants can really grow to its full potential. The seeds are first planted and are then left there to grow throughout the winter. When the roots have reached a diameter of five centimetres, they are dug out. To avoid damage this is done by hand. After the roots are digged out, the roots are then dried under the sun. After two weeks the maca roots are weighed, cleaned and picked so the best roots remain. Then these roots are washed, disinfected, cut into segments and then milled into a fine powder.
