Organic Chlorella Powder
Chlorella powder is – just like Spirulina Powder – derived from algae. However, where Spirulina is a freshwater alga, is chlorella a saltwater alga. Both contain the naturally occurring plant pigment, chlorophyll. It is also responsible for the green colour.
If you have never taken spirulina or chlorella before we advise you to start with spirulina since it is considered as a milder variant. Afterwards, you can try out chlorella or combine it with spirulina. They can be combined perfectly.
What is Chlorella Powder?
Chlorella is single-celled algae and fossil records show that it also is one of the oldest organisms that have existed since the world began. These fossil records show that chlorella has been around since 540 million years ago. Chlorella has lived through many different global changes like Fungus, bacteria, pollution and climate change. To survive this long it must have a trait that made it as though as it is. The ability to endure can be because of its unusual structure but yet powerful design. For instance, the walls of the cell are so durable that not even heavy metals and toxins can penetrate it. Chlorella also has its own Chlorella Growth Factor (CGF) in the centre of its cells which makes it reproduce itself at an amazing rate, to ensure the survival of its species.
Is your Chlorella organic certified?
Yes! We are certified by SKAL and the Chlorella we use for our Chlorella Powder comes from China. There is no need to use any pesticides, herbicides, fungicides and other harmful chemicals since they are grown in naturally fertile soils, we do not need to use any artificial fertilizers on it. Our Chlorella is organically certified by SKAL Biocontrol and is, therefore, EU organic certified.
How is your Chlorella made?
At Nutriboost we take extra care in growing our Chlorella because the growing process is very important for our final product.
Our Chlorella is grown in ponds where freshwater is used which have been extracted from deep underground and has been filtered. Our chlorella gets 22 hours of sunshine a day. At Nutriboost we do not use chemicals to grow our products so this also applies to our chlorella: no pesticide, herbicides or fungicides. Our chlorella is simply grown in natural sunlight with the water which is gently mixed to make sure that new chlorella cells are evenly distributed.
We harvest our chlorella by hand with the help of fine mesh screens. When harvested the chlorella is carefully washed but in a short period of time to save precious nutrients. After the washing, the chlorella is dried under the highest technology available today, milled and then processed to break the cell walls. Once the chlorella is processed, the nutrients can be digested by the human gut and people can finally enjoy the benefits of Chlorella.
