Product Description
If we look back in history, white pepper was one of the most favourite spices in the world. Pepper has always been considered valuable even in the early fifth century when it was used as money in Rome.
White Pepper Powder Origin
Around 2000 years ago, pepper was introduced in South East Asia, and its plantation has been increased immensely over the years. Brazil was the biggest producer of this spice in the 1930s. Pepper berries resemble grapes and just like them they grow in bunches that are about 10 feet tall. They are commonly found in Indonesia and India. Pepper berries are used to make three kinds of peppercorns; black, white, and green. Among them, black pepper has the strongest flavour, which is why it is the most famous one. Even before the ripening process of pepper berries has ended, they are processed. Those berries that are immature give us green peppercorns. Their seeds are preserved in brine after processing. And the last one is white pepper. It is produced by those berries that have really ripened. Green pepper was developed recently, but black and white peppers were in use for a very long time. There are other types of peppers as well, such as red peppercorns and pink peppercorns. They are also processed and sold in the market. The botanical name of pepper is Piper Nigrum, and it belongs to the Piperaceae family. These peppers naturally grow in Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, India, and Malaysia.
